Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Programme Overview

 

The Physiotherapy programme at Elrazi Medical University is designed to train skilled health professionals who are committed to improving physical function, mobility, and overall quality of life. Students learn how to assess, treat, and rehabilitate individuals who are affected by injury, illness, disability, or age-related conditions.

Through a combination of classroom learning, laboratory practice, and supervised clinical placements, students develop strong competencies in therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, electrotherapy, patient education, and health promotion. Upon completion, graduates are equipped with the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional ethics required to practice confidently as Physiotherapists in various healthcare settings.

  • Clinical Physiotherapist
    Diagnose and treat conditions affecting movement, mobility, and function in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers.

  • Sports Physiotherapist

  • Pediatric Physiotherapist
    Support infants and children with developmental delays, neurological disorders, or physical disabilities.

Year 1 – Foundation Level

 

Focus: Basic sciences and introductory health sciences

Year 2 – Basic Medical Sciences

 

Focus: Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry & Introductory Physiotherapy

  • Cell & Blood Physiology, Respiratory and Cardiovascular Physiology

  • Gastrointestinal & Endocrine Physiology

  • Histology I & II

  • Gross Anatomy of Limbs, Thorax, Abdomen, Pelvis & Perineum

  • Embryology I & II

  • Biochemistry of Enzymes, Metabolism & Endocrine Systems

  • Practical Biochemistry I & II

  • Introduction to Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation

Year 3 – Applied Medical Sciences & Pre-Clinical Physiotherapy

 

Focus: Neuroanatomy, Therapeutic Techniques & Behavioral Health

Year 4 – Clinical Physiotherapy Foundations

 

Focus: Professional treatment techniques & diagnostic skills
